IT SUPPORT SPECIALIST
SALARY RANGE: $24.00-$33.00 (DOE)
JOB DESCRIPTION
SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE
The
IT Support Specialist oversees computer systems and network for businesses and
offers support to the system’s users, working directly with staff in-person,
phone, remote assistance, walk-ins, and ticketing system. This may be onsite or external assistance for
the use of the company’s computer systems, or it may be assisting external company
users who access the systems via the Internet.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / DUTIES
- Setup, troubleshoot, repair, and test computer equipment, mobile
devices, and related IT networked devices.
- Troubleshoot local area networks (LAN, VPN). Test and evaluate existing network
systems, mobile devices, with emphasis on cybersecurity.
- Creation of user network accounts in Active Directory, permissions,
access, with emphasis on access control list standards.
- Attentive to customers when describing computer issues.
- Respond to customer inquiries
(email, phone, remote, in-person) and assist in troubleshooting and
resolving challenges with a positive outlook.
- Provide basic training for
users, answer questions on how hardware, software, and processes work,
i.e., mobile devices, software applications,
printers, and cybersecurity best practices.
- Attends educational workshops,
seminars, and conferences to continue his or her knowledge of information
technology. Stays current in the latest IT trends and skillsets.
KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS
§ Knowledge,
skills, and best practices for computer use, programs including Microsoft
Windows 10 and MS365, with emphasis on Outlook, Word, and Excel.
§ Server
2012-2016 experience with (AD)
§ Experience
in LAN, Wi-fi, VPN, ESET Anti-Virus/malware Endpoint applications or similar.
§
Document, audit, research, and maintain an IT
Knowledgebase.
§ Must
be able to evaluate the use of various resources and make knowledgeable
decisions regarding company standards and policies with emphasis on
cybersecurity best practices.
§
Oversees all associated IT equipment, network,
software, hardware, and tools required for the job including testing.
§
Respond to all incidents and emergencies in
facility or any project the company is working.
§
Must adhere to a promote ALL company safety
policies and promote a clean and safe work environment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The position is active and
requires extensive standing, walking, sitting, bending, kneeling, stooping,
crawling, climbing, and crouching. Along with such movements, employee is
required to lift up to 50 pounds. Additional demands are listed below:
§ Able
to climb ladders and work off scaffolding.
§ Able
to lift, carry, and or push up to 50 lbs. throughout the shift (including
overtime).
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
§ Must
have high school diploma, GED equivalent, or greater educational diploma in
related technology field.
§ Must
have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in computers and networks, within a
Windows environment. (A+, N+) a plus.
§ Experience
with MS365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
§ MS
Server 2012-2016 – (Active Directory experience preferred)
§ Must
be able to speak and understand English.
§ Must
be able to work in the US.
